Intellectual Property & Brand Usage Policy

Overview

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & BRAND USAGE POLICY

Brand: Hansuli Tagline: Devbhoomi Ki Thaati

Purpose

Hansuli is committed to preserving, promoting, and responsibly representing the traditional jewellery heritage of Uttarakhand.

This Intellectual Property & Brand Usage Policy explains how the Hansuli name, logo, photographs, videos, product designs, written content, graphics, packaging, website content, marketing materials, and other brand assets may be used.

It also establishes the distinction between:

1. Hansuli’s proprietary brand and creative assets, and 2. Traditional cultural jewellery forms and heritage designs of Uttarakhand, which may have historical and cultural origins beyond any single commercial entity.

Scope

This policy applies to all Hansuli intellectual property and brand material appearing on or through:

  • Hansuli website;
  • Instagram;
  • Facebook;
  • YouTube;
  • WhatsApp;
  • Digital advertisements;
  • Printed advertisements;
  • Product catalogues;
  • Brochures;
  • Packaging;
  • Product tags;
  • Store displays;
  • Exhibition material;
  • Photography;
  • Videos;
  • Training material;
  • Social media content;
  • Marketing campaigns;
  • Other official Hansuli channels.

The Hansuli Brand

The name HANSULI, its visual identity, brand presentation, logo, tagline, packaging, communication style, and original creative assets form an important part of Hansuli’s brand identity.

Hansuli seeks to build the brand around the values of:

  • Uttarakhand heritage;
  • Traditional craftsmanship;
  • Cultural preservation;
  • Authenticity;
  • Responsible craftsmanship;
  • Contemporary appreciation of traditional jewellery.

Hansuli Name

The name HANSULI may be used by Hansuli in connection with its jewellery, products, services, marketing, heritage initiatives, educational activities, and other authorised activities.

Unauthorised parties must not use the Hansuli name in a manner that:

  • Suggests an official association with Hansuli;
  • Suggests endorsement by Hansuli;
  • Creates customer confusion;
  • Misrepresents the source of a product;
  • Uses Hansuli’s reputation for commercial advantage;
  • Impersonates Hansuli.

The unauthorised use of the Hansuli name may be challenged where it infringes applicable intellectual-property or other legal rights.

Hansuli Logo

The Hansuli logo and its associated visual elements are protected brand assets to the extent provided under applicable law.

The logo may not be:

  • Altered;
  • Redrawn;
  • Distorted;
  • Recoloured without permission;
  • Cropped improperly;
  • Combined with another logo;
  • Used as part of another company’s branding;
  • Used to create a misleading association;
  • Used for commercial purposes without authorisation.

The official logo files supplied by Hansuli should be used wherever authorised.

Trademarks

Hansuli may seek or maintain trademark protection for relevant brand assets, which may include:

  • HANSULI;
  • Hansuli logo;
  • Brand marks;
  • Taglines;
  • Product names;
  • Collection names;
  • Other distinctive brand identifiers.

Trademark protection will depend on the registrations and rights actually held by Hansuli.

The presence or absence of a trademark symbol such as ™️ or ®️ does not by itself determine the underlying ownership of a brand asset.

Tagline

The tagline:

“HANSULI – DEV BHOOMI KI THAATI”

is part of Hansuli’s brand communication.

Unauthorised commercial use of the tagline in a manner that suggests association, endorsement, ownership, or affiliation with Hansuli is prohibited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Product photographs created or commissioned by Hansuli are protected creative assets.

These may include:

  • Product photography;
  • Model photography;
  • Editorial photography;

  • Jewellery close-ups;
  • Lifestyle photography;
  • Store photography;
  • Exhibition photography;

  • Behind-the-scenes photography.

Unauthorised copying, downloading, editing, republishing, or commercial use is not permitted without appropriate permission.

  • The content is not materially altered;

Depending on their origin and nature, such designs may be protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.

Many such forms have historical, cultural, community, and traditional origins.

Hansuli does not claim exclusive ownership over traditional cultural heritage merely because Hansuli documents, recreates, sells, or promotes a traditional form.

Hanslui’S Original Contribution To Heritage Designs

Although traditional jewellery forms may have historical origins, Hansuli may create original contributions through:

  • Contemporary adaptations;
  • New proportions;
  • New compositions;
  • New technical construction;
  • New settings;
  • New motifs;

Hansuli does not intend to claim that a traditional jewellery form belongs exclusively to the brand where that form is historically associated with communities, regions, artisans, or cultural traditions.

The brand’s role is to preserve, document, promote, and responsibly reinterpret heritage, rather than erase its cultural origins.
